Before and After Time!

I don’t know what it is about a before and after project but I LOVE IT! Since I’ve been slacking on my own before and after projects – I decided to find a little inspiration in others ;)

Here’s a few that might spark some attention!

Thank Goodness For Spray Paint!

Sometimes when you find exactly what you want but it’s not the color you wanted it to be.. you have to improvise! My has been searching high and low for a letter M for her library:

She took her extra room and decided to fill it with all her books! She’s slowly been decorating it with pops of teal but she could only find this M:

Since some colors don’t show pictures very well – this is a royal blue! You can also see the amazing rig my dad did so I could hang it and spray paint it evenly Two screws in the bottom on a hanger.

They went out and bought the correct color of paint that goes with her teal room!

A little spray paint later..

She is trying to figure out if she likes it better here or

Here! What do you think?

Either way – I’m glad I could help her get the correct color she wanted!

What kind of table do you have in your entry way?

Perfect Pet Beds!

We are pet friendly people in this house and we like to cater to our little kitty’s obsessions. As much as we spoil our little girl, I am NOT a fan of having her things out and in the way. Luckily she doesn’t even like her Petsmart bed that we got her, she prefers the rocking chair instead.

I figured I wasn’t the only one who would prefer more home friendly pet accessories. I hope you enjoy my finds!

Our kitchen is large enough to have an island so if we ever decide to get one we can dedicate a little space to our kitty.

I like the simplicity of the one above. It can fit anywhere in the house without overbearing and can blend in with almost any style home.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this one! The fact that you could use this as an ottoman or side table really excites me! Put a little round piece of glass on top to keep a lamp or cup sturdy.

I also love that if it were face the opposite direction – you wouldn’t even know it was a cat bed! Like a secret little hide out for my little one!

Built in’s area always awesome. The fact that it’s under a bench seat so it would just be wasted space anyways is perfect.

This is a clever idea! Using a drawer and fitting it with a blanket or pillow. You could easy change this to fit your homes color and fabric scheme.

Which one is our favorite?

Mirror, Mirror, On the Wall!

Rustic has been one of the biggest trends for weddings this year and getting a rustic mirror photo is usually top on the list. Not only is it great for pictures, but being able to keep the mirror itself for a lifetime sounds like a pretty sweet idea!

Here are some awesome Rustic mirrors I found for you to drool over ;)

Floor mirrors are one of my FAVORITES! Having a little one in the house isn’t so great for that unless you have it secured to the wall somehow. I think I’d panic Emma would knock it down on herself!

The one above would fit PERFECTLY with my home decor. Brian and I love dark wood and have a lot of dark wood in the house. This gives it a feel of dark wood but I love the mixture if lighter wood in there!

The rustic look with the cleanliness of the white frame around it? I think that’s a perfect mix of both worlds!

I think I might have a weakness for something blue ;) this mirror screams GORGEOUS! Can I have one please!?

Zulily Goodies!

If you’ve never heard of Zulily, you like home decor, fashion accessories, clothes, kids items, and more – you are about to get your mind blown! This online store is making it hard for me to not become addicted to shopping online. With all the great deals I just want to snatch everything up!

Not sure how this works?

Zulily posts items from vendors (name brand stores as well as new never been heard of stores!) that are currently on sale with them. Once the date of the sale expires they ship out all the goodies to all those who purchased. You know how I get doubly excited when I buy something (first the excitement of purchasing it online – then the excitement when it shows up)? Yeah this is what happens.

They’ve got a great category list which makes it easy to search for things.

Or you can get specific with items and sizes! Better yet – just use the search bar at the top to find what you are looking for!

My favorite section is to peek at what’s coming up next! Do I think I’m going to get a better deal by seeing it first .. no – but then I won’t miss out on any deals since some of these deals sell out fast!

They even have a back to school section!! AHH I am in love with those smart planet boxes & tumblers. Brian could use some new goodies to take to work – not to mention the prices are AMAAAAZING!

If you haven’t already scooted your butt over there check out the link on our sidebar –>

I Brake for Yard Sales!

I just finished reading I Brake for Yard Sales by Lara Spencer and I couldn’t NOT share it with you all!! The title had me from Hello. One thing I absolutely love? Yard sale hopping, thrift stores, and flea markets are starting to be a new thing for me!

After opening the book it was an instant “home” feeling. I kept reading and found myself screaming, “She gets me!!”

This book is great for figuring out what kind of style you like and where you are most likely going to find it! She gives great examples and ideas for figuring out what you want in your home.

If you are unsure of where to start looking, she’s got that covered! She explains the best places to look for things as well as some great do’s and dont’s at each event. You’ll feel prepared and prepped before you even step out of the door!

This is a great read for those who are interested in starting to decorate their home with yard sale, flea market, thrift shop, and auction finds at great prices!

Here is Barnes & Noble’s overview:

Good Morning America correspondent Lara Spencer is a self-confessed frugalista with a passion for shopping at yard sales, thrift shops, and estate sales, and for decorating her home and friends’ homes with her fabulous finds. In I Brake for Yard Sales, Lara shares her secrets for bargain hunting and tells you where to shop, what to look for, how to pay for it, how to restore it, and finally, where to put it in your house. Looking for the newest arrivals at your local thrift shops? After busy Saturdays and no-pick-up Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are generally the best days to shop for fresh items. Peppered with wisdom from world-renowned appraisers whom Lara knows from her previous work on Antiques Roadshow as well as contributions from well-known designers, this book also features the house of comedienne and good friend Kathy Griffin, which Spencer herself refurbished and decorated.

Extra Step Space

Hey everyone! I’m starting to plan out what I want to do with the extra space in the basement while Emma isn’t down there wanting to play! While we were painting the basement I thought it would be really cool to build her a playhouse in the extra space!

Of course that led me to checking out a bunch of places online to get ideas ;)

I can’t even begin to explain how excited these pictures get me!! My imagination is going crazy with ideas I’m going to need to budget myself ;)

This would be her entry way with a cute door and sign above the door.

Here’s the side where I want to cut a window box open and put a little bar coming out the outside with barstools for her to serve her friends food and drinks!

This back corner I’m thinking about doing wall to wall shelves for her toys and things.

Then there’s this little angled area I think I’ll fill with blankets and pillows!

What would you do with your extra stair space?

Love Always,
